Vomiting
Dogs vomit for many reasons, and some are more serious than others. If the dog vomits once or twice but seems healthy in every other way, there is probably no need to worry. Vomiting can be caused by a change in diet, garbage ingestion, or eating plant material. Restrict food for the rest of the day and give the dog some Pepto Bismol (check with your vet about dosage). You can feed a bland diet such as boiled chicken or hamburger mixed with some plain white rice for a day or two after.
If the dog has frequent forceful vomiting or also has diarrhea, depression or collapsing, get the dog to the vet immediately. This also goes for vomiting in which blood or other unusual substances are seen. Potential causes for these types are viral infections, foreign body obstructions, tumors, pancreatis, renal or liver disease, etc.
